Kanji Tattoo Designs

Kanji tattoos are pretty popular amongst those who are tattooed. They're fairly simple designed tattoos, and can range from different languages. Usually, though, you'll see Kanji symbols in terms of Chinese and oriental characters.

The one big thing that you want to consider when you get a kanji tattoo is that the characters mean what you think they mean. It's recommended that you check with someone who fluently speaks and writes the language of choice.

Dragon Tattoo Designs

Dragon tattoos are far and wide in terms of their design and meaning. Each tattoo is different even if two people pick the same tattoo off of the same flash. Each tattoo artist will put their own swing to the tattoo, with the customers wishes, mind you.

But, for the most part the most common dragon tattoos are chinese dragons and tribal dragons. Oriental dragons are those that are benevolent and represent strength, whereas the western dragon is the malicious, evil bearing dragon.

Different people get dragon tattoos for different reasons.

Body Modifications

Let's break the theme a little bit. Time for a little rant or whatever you will call it.

Basically, I was thinking about this yesterday. I had my bottom belly button repierced. It looks great. You can see it HERE.

And, on the way home, I was thinking about it. I mean why do I put myself through the pain of a new piercing or tattoo? I mean honestly, piercings can be taken out, close up, and repierced. Tattoos are relatively permanent. But, that's all beside the point.

I'm not an ugly person. So, why do I keep getting holes put in me?

Well, I think it's because the pain brings me back. It opens up my mind, body, and soul, a little bit. Brings something new to the mundane. Adds to the body.

In a way, I see the human body as a canvase that can be decorated at will, but of course that is not always the case.

I dunno... What do you think?

Food for thought....

    Portrait Tattoos

If you're interested in creating a memorial of a beloved friend, family member, or pet, why not consider a tattoo. This allows you beloved to be with you no matter what- through thick and thin.

Portrait tattoos require a good deal of details, so finding a clear, crisp photo is a must!

Try to find a picture that is at least 3 inches by 3 inches.

Also, when considering the size of the tattoo, remember that the smaller the tattoo the fewer details and the less the quality you will get.

    Tattoos in the Workplace

Here's a thought to think about...

If it was socially acceptable to have tattoos any where you pleased, would you get a tattoo (or more tattooo)?

The reason I ask is because I currently have two tattoos, and I just question whether I would have more if I could...

Jobs turn down those who are tattooed. But is that right? I mean, yes, it may not be the most professional to have a visible tattoo in certain workplaces and professions, such as the medical field. I mean how ironic would it be for the man, or woman, lasering off your tattoo, to have a complete arm band?

I've never heard of a company who allows visible tattoos or piercings. I will admit, that it tends to rely on your manager as to how he will bend the company rules. Many retail companies, will bend the rules, according to the General Manager in charge, but with higher ups come in, body mods must be covered. Some customer service companies will allow for visible tattoos, as long as they are not offensive. Whether this is a part of the company policy or a managers choice, I don't know.

But, anyway... If you were to be hired even though you had visible tattoo, would you get more? Or would you get more visbible tattoos, versus those hidden under your clothes?

    Halloween Tattoos

Now, although Christmas is upon us, there's still a little room for Halloween in our hearts and on our bodies. Halloween tattoos can come in just about any shape, form, or fashion. You can find them in the appearance of bats, spiders, spider webs, gypsies, witches, vampires, vampire bites, and other various Halloween symbols.

When choosing a Halloween tattoo, much less any tattoo, remember that tattoos are permanent. And, unless you have the funds to pay for laser surgery in order to remove a tattoo that you're unhappy with. So when choosing a tattoo, make sure it's something that you're truly interested in because for the most part, it's going to be a part of your body for the rest of your life. ;-)

    Scarification

Scarification is a more hardcore body modification of today's society. When scarification was introduced to tribes, it was more of the norm. Many warriors had facial and body scars and brands. Today, many people look down upon the body modification. Asking the person, "What's wrong with you?!" But, in reality, it's just a different form of body modification that is not as well known as the tattoo.

It's bes to get a scarification from and experienced person, versus a do it yourself job. You can encounter so many problems when scaring yourself with a needle, box cutter, etc. If you do not know what you're doing, one wrong cut can be detrimental. Infection can take a serious tole on the body. So, remember that, if you decide upon a new scar. Find a reputable person at a tattoo shop to perform the task for you.

    Alternative

Alternative by defination is a " choice limited to one of two or more possibilities, as of things, propositions, or courses of action, the selection of which precludes any other possibility," as stated by dictionary.com. Although, that is the most popular choice of the definition, there is another. A similar meaning, but not a choice, but more of a different stance, an alternative lifestyle, for example.

Alternative could include various things, images, or ideas. Alternative could include the alternative lifestyle involving tattoos and piercings. It could be that of the study of alternative ideas of the supernatural, myths, and lore.

    Alternative is ever changing.
